Website Design FAQ
Here's a not-so-brief list of frequently asked
questions about our general Website Design Process.
Warning: An incoming wall of text is coming your way.
But, in our defense, this is a FAQ page.
Many of these questions are things clients, friends or family have asked us over time. Other times, it's parts of blogs we haven't gotten around to writing about. Either way, all of this falls under the bracket of website design.
You should also know that the topic website design is a broad topic, which means some of these QnA's are going to overlap a little bit with other FAQs we've created.

How much does a website cost?
The cost of a website depends on a few things. This includes how many pages it is, how much content is provided and whether or not eCommerce is involved.
How long does it take to launch a website from start to finish?
With all of the assets in front of us, including images, content and an approved layout, a website takes an average of 3 weeks to 3 months to complete. The turnaround time mostly depends on how large your website will be and if there are any special requests, like eComm or custom applications that need to be developed. However, most websites are live within 6 weeks from discovery to live on the internet.
How do we communicate throughout the web design process?
We have a design process that includes a phone discovery, forms, and an email chain. That said, we are happy to address updates and evolutions over the phone or email — whatever works best for you and our team.
What will you need from me to build a website?
After a brief conversation to establish your goals, we'll ask you to complete a short discovery form to help us create a layout. We'll also need the content you'll want on your website, which includes all written stuff and images.
What if I don't like the website you build me?
This isn't something we've run into very often. Our discovery process is thorough, and we make sure you' happy with the layout and look before coding it. That said, we also provide plenty of opportunities to see on the net as it develops before it launches where you can give feedback.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. While we require a deposit to begin, payment schedules are an option.
Can I make the final payment when the site is ready to go live?
Yes. you' also able to finance it throughout the year.
Who hosts the website?
We often provide web hosting services alongside our website design services. However, we are happy to migrate our installations to the hosting platform of your choice.
What if I don't want to or don't know how to a website? Will you do it for me?
Yes. We provide fully managed website packages that include updates and maintenance schedules built around your needs and final build.
Can my team or I update the website after it's built?
Yes, in most cases. I say most cases because we also use other platforms to build websites on, such as ReactJS, which most clients would not update without web development experience.
Can my website have forms?
There are many ways to include a form on the website. we'll provide some options and help you select the form type that best suits your needs and goals.
How many pages do I get with my website?
As many as you need, some people only require a landing page/brochure-style website. Others require a 100+ page eComm website. Just remember, page number increases time and cost.
Will you write the content for me?
Yes, for a cost. We have a copywriter in-house that will work with you to develop your content. This includes entirely creating the content to editing and expanding on the content you provide. This also includes organic SEO and a digital marketing plan.
How will you write the content for my website without knowing what I know?
Anything we write will get passed by you for approval to make edits or changes to make sure it's correct. To get to that point, we do our research, including talking directly with you and online research.
How do you build a website for me?
After a discovery process and your design approval, we get our in-house web developer to code it in the appropriate language. This includes WordPress, ReactJS, Angular, NextJS, and Shopify websites.
I don't want WordPress, are there alternatives?
Yes. We provide a wide range of options for your website, including old-school HTML, ReactJS, Angular, NextJS and Shopify, to name drop a few.
I already have a website, how easy is it to update it?
How easy or difficult a website update depends on the platform it is created on and what you want to change. For example, WordPress tends to update rather quickly. Which means many plugins quickly fall far behind and are no longer compatible with where WordPress is today. Changing something like this can be difficult or time-consuming.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?
Yes. All our websites are responsive, that is, mobile-friendly out of the box.
How long will it take to get to the first page of Google?
We get this question all the time. Getting to the first page of Google with organic SEO efforts takes anywhere from a few months to a year or so. What influences this is what your exact niche, product or service is. This is because your competitors define the difficulty. More so, the more work they've put into their SEO efforts, the more work you'll need to put into yours.
Do I need a website?
For most businesses, yes. Most everyone searches online when they want something. If you' not there, odds are someone else is.
Will you buy stock images for me?
Yes. We will buy stock images for on request and provide you with the proper paper trail.
